New Ford Focus ST picks up first award in the UK
The brand-new Ford Focus ST has won its first award in the UK after picking up a prize at the Carbuyer’s Best Car Awards.
The Ford Focus ST is one of the newest Ford cars on the market, but despite only being released at the start of the year the model has won the Best Hot Hatch category at the Carbuyer’s Best Car Awards.
This is a huge coup for Ford UK; Carbuyer is used by over 1.4 million people a month as a trusted reviews site and for information about new cars in the UK. Speaking to Ford.co.uk, Anthony Ireson, Ford Britain marketing director, said, “It is great to see the new-model Ford Focus ST gathering its first UK award within a month of arriving in dealerships.
“A third of the 140,000 Focus ST models sold globally since 2002 were bought in the UK, where our appetite for fast Fords shows every sign of continuing.”
Focus ST range offers drivers two different engines
The new Ford Focus ST has only been on sale at Ford dealers in Hampshire since the start of February and customers are said to be happy with the car’s sportier styling.
This new sporty persona is not just confined to its looks, as the new range features the options of two engines and three series, as well as boasting two different body styles. The 250PS EcoBoost petrol and 185PS TDCi diesel 2 litre engines are offered to drivers in the ST-1, ST-2 and ST-3 series vehicles.
The Ford Focus ST 2015 has also received acclaim for its new style as it boasts a sculpted bonnet and slimmer headlamps, whilst the range’s sports body kit features side skirts, a rear roof spoiler and 19-inch ST Design alloy wheels.
