New car sales rise significantly in October

Newly released statistics, from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), have revealed that sales of first-hand cars rocketed in the month of October, rising more than 12 per cent on last month's figures.

The results were indicative of a highly encouraging overall picture, which shows new sales from Ford car dealers and other showrooms across the country up by 5 per cent on last year's total to this point, with 1,771,861 units leaving forecourts so far.

According to SMMT analysts, end-of-year sales are now expected to surpass the two million mark for the twelve months of 2012, which would beat the previous forecast of 1.97 million which was issued during the summer.

Both new and used Ford car dealers currently feature a wide range of great quality and highly affordable models for the driving public to choose from, with the historic manufacturer continuing to produce some of the UK's most popular vehicles even throughout the market's recent difficulties.
