The deployment of 35 hybrid Ford Transit vans by Swansea Council is being hailed as the most extensive ‘green' fleet of commercial vehicles to be seen in the country yet.
It is believed that the models will bring with them a range of beneficial effects as they carry out their duties on behalf of local parks, libraries, refuse collection services and more, including reducing carbon emissions by approximately 220 tonnes and saving around £75,000 in fuel costs.
Discussing the move, the city's Cabinet Member for Sustainability, Councillor Sybil Crouch, explained that it forms just one part of a far-reaching initiative aimed at making Swansea a much greener place in general.
Ford's great range of commercial vehicles are the perfect option for anyone hoping to find high quality and highly affordable vans in Dorset or anywhere else in the UK and, as has been acknowledged by Swansea Council, offer the best choice when it comes to environmentally-friendly, heavy-duty transport.
