Ford to unveil new compact car at Delhi Auto Expo

Ford have announced that they will be using the 12th Delhi Auto Expo as the venue for unveiling a new global compact vehicle - a model which many believe could bear a resemblance to the new Ford Ka.

With compact cars making up almost two-thirds of all vehicle sales in 2013 and outperforming other disciplines for the last decade, it is important that this new model from Ford is competitive, to ensure the motoring giant can take a sizeable bite of the proverbial cherry.

With the car predicted to offer enough space for five passengers, a roomy interior and outstanding fuel consumption, it is likely that the firm plan to base their new project on the latest Ford Ka, which was met with huge acclaim following its unveiling in Brazil late last year. Ford have been clear to distance the planned model from the Ford Ka, however, labelling it only as a new global concept.

Attention turns to Delhi

Representing Ford's vision for the future, the new model is expected to prove hugely popular in growing markets like India, but is also forecast to become a big seller upon its arrival at Ford dealers in the UK.

Set to take place this year from 7-11 February, the Delhi Auto Expo has quickly become regarded among the top automotive events on the calendar; Ford will be sharing the floor there with a host of other motor companies, including BMW, Chevrolet, Datstun, Fiat and Honda.

With the official unveiling just around the corner, figures from across the motoring world will no doubt have their eyes firmly set on the Delhi Auto Expo. If you would like to do the same, keep checking back for the latest news from Foray Motor Group.
