FORD TO INVEST STRONGLY IN THE CHINESE VAN MARKET
The Commercial vehicle arm of the Ford Motor Company has announced that they will be investing in the CV market of China. The investment will mean more light commercial vehicles will be introduced to the country.
Already many new Ford vans are sold in the country, and motoring industry reports confirming that China has the highest value of van and truck sales in the world, has hastened the car giant's investments. Last year one million heave trucks and commercial vans where sold in China, a figure even higher than that of North America, South America and Europe combined.
With the investment comes the announcement of nine new production plants to the Asia Pacific region, in a bid to also aggressively expand passenger car sales too.
Ford is planning to introduce 15 new vehicles with up to 20 new power-trains by the year 2015 in China.
