Ford Releases New Version of Transit Custom
Ford continue to lead in innovation and flexibility in the commercial fleet market. After having the Transit Custom named 2013 International Van of the Year, the company chose to release a new version of the popular vehicle rather than resting on their laurels. The new model being released later this year is a high-roof version of the already available Transit Custom. The increased height of the vehicle will provide an additional 20% to the already large load volume that the Transit Custom provides; the cost will be just £500 more than the same model in the low-roof version. Orders can be placed immediately for the new design, with delivery expected in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The original Ford Transit Custom was created with a diverse range of potential users in mind, and now the higher roof affords even greater versatility. The interior height from the roof to the floor is now 370 mm higher, extending to an expansive 1.78m and offering a total maximum load volume of 8.5 cubic meters if outfitted with a full bulkhead. The exterior design and engineering still offers all of the economy, durability and style already built into the model, as well as the smart load space features that have made the van such a hit.
The features of the Ford Transit Custom include a load-through hatch that can handle items up to 3.0 meters long, tie-down hooks that have been repositioned to enable cleaning the floor and to increase usable space, a one-piece floor liner and enhanced lighting, all in a highly-efficient package with CO2 emissions starting at 178g/km.
