Ford releases new apps

Ford has unveiled its new Parkopedia app which will enable motorists to search around 15 million car parking spaces across Europe as well as its AUPEO! App which allows drivers to find their favourite music from across 200 European radio stations.

The new apps could soon be implemented into new Ford Focus cars for sale across the whole of Europe, as well as the manufacturer's various other models such as the Fiesta, Ka and Mondeo.

The new AUPEO! App has come about as a result of Ford Britain partnering with the free UK radio-listening app Radioplayer. This new application will give Ford drivers access to all of BBC's radio stations, as well as other commercial, community and student stations.

Paul Mascarenas, Ford's chief technical officer and vice president of Research and Innovation, says, "Customers want to integrate their personalised digital lives into their daily drive to ensure they are as connected and streamlined on the move as they are the rest of the day."

Ford in the UK also had a hand in implementing the new Parkopedia app into new Ford cars. The Parkopedia application will allow drivers to search for car parking spaces by their closest location, cheapest price and availability.

Apps to work with Ford SYNC

The new Parkopedia and AUPEO! Apps will be enabled to work with the Ford SYNC technology in all of Ford's European cars.

These latest additions to Ford SYNC come after Ford recently announced partner apps with ADAC, Audioteka, Cityseeker and Eventseeker by Wcities, Glympse, Hotels.com, Kaliki, Spotify and TomTom.

The new Ford SYNC with Voice Control and AppLink has already been rolled out across new Ford cars in North America and although in Europe only the new Ford EcoSport SUV has it implemented, Ford bosses are looking at rolling out the technology across all new Ford cars in the near future.
