Ford Fiesta wins at Carbuyer Car of the Year Awards

The Ford Fiesta has been on the receiving end of yet another award, this time taking home the Best Small Car prize at the Carbuyer Car of the Year Awards.

First unveiled by the motoring giant back in 1976, the Fiesta has long been one of the flagship models of the fleet and stands alongside the Ford Focus and Mondeo as among the most popular vehicles in their respective classes.

It is the latest in a series of positive developments for the model, one which celebrated record sales levels during 2013 - shifting over 70,000 models in the US while also being confirmed as the best-selling car in the UK.

Now into its sixth generation, one of the many features which have been the subject of high praise is the revolutionary EcoBoost engine, a device which offers increased power with fantastic fuel efficiency.

The Fiesta ST was also a big winner at the awards ceremony, with the supercharged sibling of the Fiesta announced as the victor in the Best Hot Hatch category. The model has also had its fair share of praise, being announced as Car of the Year by Top Gear Magazine - a development we covered in a previous story.

With Ford continually looking to create the finest driving experience through the implementation of new technologies such as AppLink and Ford Active Park Assist, they are sure to remain among the most established motoring companies for many years to come.
