Ford Fiesta named as Women's World Car of the Year
The Ford Motor Company has picked up yet another award to add to its trophy cabinet, with the new Ford Fiesta being named as the supreme winner at the Women's World Car of the Year Awards 2013.
Decided by a panel of global motoring writers, the car's high-end look and feel, safety, value for money, child-friendliness and environmental impact were all aspects which helped the Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost appeal to the women of today, taking home the coveted crown as overall victor as a result. The eco-friendly attributes of the model come thanks to the EcoBoost engine, one which delivers 123bhp but only produces 99 g/km CO2.
The car fought off stiff competition from a host of popular models, including the Audi Allroad luxury crossover, Range Rover SUV and the Porsche Boxster S sports car. The same model was also triumphant in the award's Economy Car category, beating the Kia Forte and the Toyota Prius in the process.
The Women's World Car of the Year Awards are designed to reflect the preferences of women buyers, with female motoring writers from all over the world discussing what they look for in a car and then indentifying a model which best suits the need. With judges supplying a list of any of the 2013 models they have tested, the supreme winner and podium finishers are then decided following the creation of a shortlist.
It is the latest in a catalogue of praise for the flagship model, with the aforementioned 1.0L EcoBoost engine recently winning the accolade of being the 2013 International Engine of the Year.
If you are currently on the hunt for a vehicle which suits all aspects of your busy life, the Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost could provide an end to your search, especially with its raft of award-winning attributes.
