Ford C-Max named Green Car Vision Award Winner

Since the first Model T rolled off the production line back in 1903, Ford Motor Company has grown into one of the most successful automotive manufacturers ever. With flagship models such as the Fiesta, Focus and Transit readily available from Ford car dealers all over the country, the company have managed to continue their success and today stand as one the market leaders in UK passenger cars.

The company have more recently been praised for their continued efforts in green motoring, with the C-Max Energi plug in Hybrid taking home yet another coveted award at the Washington Motor Show. At the event late last month, it took home the Green Car Journal’s 2012 Green Car Vision Award.

The first ever plug in hybrid vehicle from the company, it is perhaps the flagship in a fleet of vehicles created by Ford which boast fantastic environmentally friendly credentials. The C-Max hybrid uses powersplit hybrid architecture and state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries to give the option of all electric driving as well as hybrid with engine power. The results are simply staggering, showing high efficiency and a driving range of more than 500 miles.

It is a just reward for Ford Motor Company, which has worked tirelessly for the last ten years in developing automobiles with low carbon emissions. It comes as the latest piece of eco-friendly news regarding the company, which more recently took home an award from the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership in London.

The Ford C-Max Hybrid has already been a revelation in America, earning positive reviews and a wealth of awards ever since going on sale in November 2012. It is expected to land on UK shores later in 2013 where it is hoped it will receive a similar reception.
