DIESEL FORD TRANSIT’S TO BE RELEASED IN AMERICA
The development of Ford Transit vans in the states has taken another turn, with Ford announcing that they will now be offering diesel engines in the soon to be released commercial vans.
The Transit van will begin production later in the year and is being introduced not only due to its popularity within Europe but also to replace the aging E-series van that is the company's flagship commercial model being sold in North America.
The vans are due to be built at the Ford Motor Company's Kansas plant and are planned to be more heavy duty for the American Audience due to the country's road and terrain conditions. Even though the details of the production model have not yet been released, it is expected to be very well received. Already Ford has sold six million of the new Ford vans across five continents since it was introduced in 1965.
