Affinity Water Signs Exclusive Contract with Ford
Affinity Water, provider of 900 million litres of water daily to 3.5 million people, has announced that they have just contracted for an exclusive partnership with Ford for their commercial vehicle needs. The deal encompasses both commercial vehicles and passenger cars, and represents a departure from the company’s previous practice of contracting for vehicles from multiple manufacturers.
The contract outlines plans to replace approximately 300 vehicles from Affinity Water’s current fleet of 570 light commercial vehicles and passenger cars with Ford vehicles over the next 36 months. It is expected that a large portion of the new acquisitions will be Fiesta Vans and vehicles from the Transit line-up.
According to Leroy Thomas, Affinity’s fleet services contract manager, the decision was based in large-part on the flexibility offered by Ford’s wide range of options. “Ford was the only company able to supply the range required – everything from the Fiesta Van through Transit Connect and Transit Custom, to the full-size Transit, as well as the Ranger,” he said. “Ford has also recently renewed a lot of its range. The models are new and offer increased safety features, better mpg and cO2 emissions across the range.”
The company largely uses their vehicles for the maintenance of its infrastructure.
