2014 Shows Promising Start for Ford’s Commercial Vehicle Sales
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has come out with their sales figures for January 2014, and the numbers say that Ford’s line of commercial vehicles are off to a fast start and are already showing growth over 2013 sales.
Ford’s commercial vehicle sales numbers hit 14.3%, exceeding those for January 2013 by 3.5% and representing a 25.3% market share. The Transit and Transit Custom, Ford’s medium commercial vehicles also showed growth from 3,492 last January to 4,416 in 2014. Market share numbers were up to 33.3% from last year’s 30.4%; the manufacturer’s Fiesta Van, Transit Custom and Transit all led other manufacturers in market share in 2013 also.
Overall, Ford’s entire lineup of vehicles, both commercial and passenger, are showing remarkable growth in 2014, with overall registrations up by 11.7%. Ford’s overall market share is 15.3%.
