VAN DRIVERS PREFER THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE TO SAT NAV

Sat navs at one point were revelled to be the saviour of car and van users, with easy to follow directions at the touch of a button. A new survey has just shown that this may not still be the case.
The survey has been carried out by the Commercial van Insurers Swinton and has shown that many of the UK's van drivers are falling out of love with their sat nav devices, with many of them even commenting that are untrustworthy.
1000 van drivers including those that drive new Ford vans such as the Ford Transit were surveyed, with one in five saying that they would prefer to find their destinations using their own knowledge. One third of drivers also commented that their navigation devices had sent them to the wrong destination more than once.
Some of the main reasons for van drivers not wanting to use sat nav devices included fuel wastage due to longer unnecessary routes, and also lateness caused.
