OPTICIANS WARN VAN DRIVERS ABOUT IMPORTANCE OF EYE TESTS

One of the largest opticians have been busy highlighting the risks involved for van and fleet drivers with regards to occupational driving and their sight.
Specsavers Corporate eye care has launched a new scheme to help remind drivers just how important their eyesight is if they spend their working day travelling. The opticians will be sending out interested businesses and individuals a full sized number plate with a 20.5 metre ribbon attached in a bid to get employees interested in whether they would pass basic legal requirements.
The road safety charity ‘Brake' gave the thumbs up to the new scheme saying that one in six drivers would fail an eye test.
Even with companies and individuals investing in vehicles such as new Ford vans, which come with some of the most advanced safety features as standard, the new scheme certainly highlights another very important safety risk.
