New Ford Mondeo praised in article

The latest incarnation of the Ford Mondeo has finally landed onto the roads of the UK, with the common large family car winning a stellar review from a leading business motoring magazine.

A model which has proved a huge success since it was first launched in 1992, the Ford Mondeo was the perfect replacement for the Ford Sierra and is one of the members of the Ford fleet which has excelled in numerous world markets. The latest model was first unveiled to the world at the Detroit Motor Show back in 2012, with prospective customers having to wait over two years before getting their hands on one from official Ford dealerships here in the UK.

The version which is winning all the plaudits is the Mondeo 2.0 TDCi, with Business Car Magazine praising the model for its “top-notch driving dynamics with excellent refinement”. Manufacturers believe that this could be the most technologically advanced Ford vehicle ever introduced into Europe, and with Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection just one of the various technological improvements, it’s a statement that can certainly be backed up.

Among the features that earned praise was the Active City Stop technology, designed to minimise the likelihood of traffic jam bumps. Incorporating a sophisticated light-detecting and ranging detector that scans the road ahead 50 times a second, it can help to prevent collisions by automatically applying the brakes if the driver fails to react to warnings. It’s features like this that are sure to make the latest Ford Mondeo one of the most popular new Ford cars on the market today.

Commended for the ride quality
Another aspect which the article touches upon is the ride quality for both driver and passenger, and while they state that the steering is pert, the ride hasn’t been compromised thanks to well-judged dampening.
