Ford team up with Radioplayer to offer online radio

The Ford Motor Company has teamed up with a leading online listening hub to enable drivers to enjoy streamed internet radio on demand - another example of how they are pushing to offer the ultimate experience for their owners.

It is made possible through the Radioplayer, the first UK app enabled to connect to Ford SYNC with AppLink. It means that drivers can listen to the very best radio stations in Britain while on the move; Ford SYNC also allows them to do this through voice activation – meaning you can keep your complete attention on the road. It is believed that as much as one-fifth of all radio listening is done in the car, so the effort to improve radio offerings in vehicles is completely justified.

Radioplayer has already proved popular on tablet and desktop devices, with the free-to-download service extending to over 3000 stations which include the entire BBC national and local offerings, as well as community and student services.

With Ford already responsible for bringing 500,000 DAB-fitted vehicles onto our roads over the last six years, the motoring giant is clearly determined to introduce their owners to the next level of in-car entertainment.

The company has confirmed that it plans to offer the service on all models of the high-series Mondeo and Kuga within the next five years, with models such as the new Ford Focus, Fiesta and Ka also expected to benefit should this initial roll-out prove successful.

If you would like to find out more about this superb new service, or even learn more about how you could enjoy DAB radio in your Ford vehicle, why not head along to one of the certified Foray Motor Group dealerships which benefit from all the latest products coming out of the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant and the company’s other technology hubs?
