Ford showered with praise at ACFO awards
The Ford Motor Company found itself on the receiving end of plaudits last week, with the blue oval one of the stand-out performers at the 2013 edition of the ACFO Awards.
Designed to recognise and reward manufacturers who give their support to the fleet industry, the ACFO Awards have been running for over 30 years and are regarded as one of the finest in the motoring industry.
One of the biggest successes for Ford was their revolutionary 1.0 EcoBoost engine, which combines improved performance with outstanding consumption figures and excellent environmental credentials. The winner of the 2012 and 2013 International Engine of the Year, it has already been introduced into the 2013 Ford Fiesta, Focus, B-Max, C-Max and Grand C-Max, and Ford are planning to launch it in their commercial arm in the future. Its outstanding performance is best demonstrated by the Focus, with the model set to become the first family car to produce below 100g/km CO2 when it is made available at Ford dealerships next year.
Ford's fantastic Driver Assistance Pack was also heralded at the awards ceremony, being named among the runners up in the Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year category. An optional extra on all new Ford vehicles, it offers a raft of innovative safety features such as Traffic Sign Recognition, thanks to a front-mounted camera which scans the road ahead, and the Low Speed Safety System, designed to avoid low-speed collisions that can occur in urban areas.
These are just two of the many developments Ford are introducing into their future vehicles - initiatives which are aimed at offering the ultimate combination of performance, safety and comfort for drivers. Why not head down to one of the Ford dealerships operated by the Foray Motor Group today and discover why these new features have garnered such praise?
