Ford scoops three awards at Honest John Awards

It looks like The Ford Motor Company need to make some more room in their trophy cabinet after scooping three awards at this year's edition of the Honest John Awards, with three Ford models being praised at the ceremony.

Split into 14 different categories from 'City Car' to 'Sports Car', the awards aren't chosen by a judging panel but instead governed by the users of It means that victory in each of the categories is well-deserved, being chosen by the many of members of the public rather than just a small group of experts.

Being one of the driving forces behind the success of the Ford car fleet over the years, the many models of the Ford Fiesta have been the recipient of countless awards since the first version rolled off the production line back in 1976. This year, it picked up the title of 'Most Popular Small Hatchback'. Dan Harrisson, editor of, said that some of the reasons why the Fiesta has continued to prove so popular are its smart looks and low running costs.

Another model which was celebrated at the event was the Ford Mondeo, a vehicle which is also considered a stalwart in Ford's repertoire and one which has remained consistently competitive in the large family car market. The Mondeo picked up the company's second award, being named as the 'Most Popular Family Car'. Its reduced CO2 emissions are believed to have been a major factor behind its success.

The third and final model to be praised was the C-MAX, with the versatility of the titanium X model in particularly helping it drive to victory in the 'Most Popular MPV category'.
