Ford’s most efficient car begins production


The most efficient Ford car has just begun rolling off its assembly lines in Germany. The Fiesta , which holds a 95bhp 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi engine is eagerly anticipated by consumers hoping to own not only an extremely eco friendly vehicle but also a powerful and comfortable one.

Equipped with the latest in Ford ECOnetic technology, the Fiesta has been reported to offer economical fuel efficiency of 3.3l/100km (86.5mpg) and the extremely low co2 emission rate of 87g/km. The car will join the Ford Fiesta van which has recently been launched with ECOnetic engine technology under the bonnet.

Ford have pledged that half of Ford cars for sale in Europe will carry ECOnetic engines by the end of 2012, with an increase up to two thirds of vehicles by 2013.
