CONFIDENCE WHATEVER THE WEATHER The smart All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system can work out how much grip, cornering balance and responsiveness is necessary during icy, wet or dry conditions and on changing terrain. The technology is able to send drive to the front or rear axle depending on requirements. And this ‘torque on demand’ system supplies outstanding handling and improved efficiency.

HILL STARTS MADE EASIER Hill Start Assist momentarily stops you rolling backwards (or forwards) when making a hill start. The system works by holding pressure to the braking system for an extra 2.5 seconds, allowing more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also beneficial when you’re stopping and starting on slippery/wet terrains.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: CAN CALL FOR HELP EVEN IF YOU CAN’T An essential part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance. In the event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, this technology will use a Bluetooth®-paired and connected mobile phone to assist you to make a direct call to the Emergency Services. You then have the choice to either stop the call or speak to those services if you need to. Most importantly, the system will offer vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unable to.

HEATED STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS Heated front seats for both the driver and passenger are an available option. There are three different heat settings you can use, these are easily set via push button switches that control both left and right heated seats, and a red light illuminates to show the heat level setting you’ve chosen. Whether it’s a frosty morning or a freezing cold night, a heated steering wheel is also guaranteed to warm your hands better than a pair of gloves.

FORWARD-THINKING SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLED BRAKING Electronic brake-force distribution combined with anti-lock braking system (ABS) ensures that your braking is effective.

STAY IN CONTROL – REGARDLESS OF CONDITIONS Electronic Stability Control continually monitors your vehicle’s progress. If it feels your vehicle losing grip it automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, which helps to stabilise it. Using cutting-edge sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System it constantly evaluates the behaviour of your vehicle.

A CONVENIENT, ADJUSTABLE LOAD FLOOR The load floor in the back of the vehicle has three height settings; this is so you can create a hidden compartment of changeable size under the boot floor. When the load floor is set in its highest position, and with the rear seats folded, you will get a completely flat load floor.

ECOSPORT EASILY CLEARS OBSTACLES The Ford EcoSport’s ‘approach’ and ‘departure’ angles are fixed at 21.0 degrees and 33.3 degrees, with a ramp break-over angle of 23.3 degrees (unloaded). These degrees relate to the angles that your car can drive over an obstacle and avoid scraping its underside: This is essential for a modern SUV.
