This October, Mia will be walking 39 miles around the beautiful coast of Guernsey with her grandparents - and anyone else brave enough to join them! It’s a full island loop, with fresh sea air, plenty of tea stops, and, most importantly, a powerful reason behind it. Together, they’re raising funds for five incredible Dorset-based charities that support causes close to their hearts.
For Mia’s grandparents, Guernsey isn’t just a stunning backdrop - it’s a place full of family milestones and memories. Taking on this challenge there makes the walk especially meaningful.
There’s also history behind the journey. Nearly two decades ago, Mia’s nanny, Anne Clayton, helped lead a group from Guernsey to climb Kilimanjaro, raising awareness of ovarian cancer while working at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. This coastal challenge feels like a way of carrying that legacy forward - just at sea level this time.
Mia’s grandad has always loved walking, exploring new places, and capturing photos along the way - making this challenge perfectly suited to him. Mia is looking forward to sharing the views, the fresh air, and maybe even learning a few photography tips from him during the walk.
She is also proud to be taking part as part of Foray Motor Group’s 'Strive for 25' campaign - celebrating 25 years in business by raising £25,000 for charity. Her walk is a personal contribution to that goal, and every mile brings them closer.
Funds raised from the challenge will support five outstanding charities, all based in Dorset - the same community where the ferry from Guernsey docks. It’s a meaningful way of giving back to communities on both sides of the sea.
Your support makes a real difference. Whether through a donation, sharing the story, cheering them on, or even joining for part of the route, you’ll be helping turn every step into something meaningful.
