Pooch Team Mooches to Show in New Truck
Gundogs from the Mullenscote display team will be making tracks to venues in a new truck sponsored by Foray Motor Group.
The high profile team, which is at different shows throughout the season as well as attending store and other venue launches, will be travelling in a black Ford Ranger that has just been added to the Mullenscote fleet.
"I have been looking for a suitable truck for some time and the Ranger with an automatic gearbox turned out to do exactly the job I wanted," explained Howard Kirby, owner of Mullenscote and its associated Lains Shooting School, based at Quarley, near Andover.
"The beauty of the Ranger is that it brings a big, five seat cab as well as a huge rear load bed that will make it much easier to carry the dog team. The Ranger also has enough power to pull our show trailer while the 4x4 transmission with automatic gearbox makes it easy to drive on muddy show grounds."
Mark Beevers, of Andover Ford, who is pictured handing the Ranger's keys to Howard Kirby, said the sponsorship would spread the company's name across its territory in south west England, from Andover as far as Yeovil and Dorchester. The truck is branded for Andover Ford on one side and Edwards Ford, Salisbury, on the other.
"The Mullenscote team rightly has a reputation for being the best gun dog display in the country so, with a pedigree like that, we just had to get involved," he added.
