Great Ford Car Events for your 2015 diary

Ford has long been one of the biggest names in the automotive industry, with millions of people across the world benefiting from the reliability, performance and technology that is found in all models from the blue oval’s fleet. The widespread popularity of Ford here in the UK has led to a host of specialist events taking place throughout the calendar. With this in mind, here are some of the best 2015 Ford car events we feel shouldn’t be missed.

Ford Fair

We begin with the Ford Fair, considered the biggest and best Ford Festival across Europe. Held at the esteemed Silverstone Circuit every summer, the 2014 instalment alone drew crowds of over 15,500 people alone to check out the dazzling array of used and new Ford vehicles that were on display. It’s also the place to find some of the fastest Ford vehicles around, all of which test their speed on a 0-60mph strip before being paraded in a special display area.

With live music, great food and even the chance to see classic cars such as the Ford GT40, Chris Evans’ dream event offers unbeatable fun for all ages. As if that wasn’t all, the event even raises money for Children In Need!

There will be two Car Fests in the UK this year. For northern residents, all the fun can be found at Oulton Park in Cheshire from 31 July – 2 August. Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire is the venue for the southern event, taking place from 28-30 August. MSA Formula

Ford is a company renowned for performance, with many of its vehicles taking hundreds of chequered flags in years gone by. The latest event to further bolster the racing pedigree of Ford is MSA Formula, considered by many to be the most exciting development in British junior single-seater motor racing.

A completely new championship, MSA Formula invites drivers as young as 15 years old to experience professional racing. While the carbon-fibre chassis and control tyres are supplied by European manufacturer Mygale and Hankook respectively, the driving force of the series will be a plucky 1.6L Ford EcoBoost engine. We spoke to Gerard Quinn, Head of Ford Racing in Europe, to find out more about this fantastic new event.

“I believe this to be the most remarkable initiative in junior single-seater racing since the launch of the original Formula Ford in 1967, a concept which helped develop and mould the track careers of so many of motor racing’s great names. We are certain that the MSA Formula is absolutely the right package to help set the young drivers of today on the path to similar glories through the FIA ladder of opportunity of which this series is the first recognised step.

"MSA Formula offers an affordable package, one which will bring top-level single-seater racing within the budgets of a host of young driving talent. This was the world governing body’s aim when it announced its plans for FIA Formula 4, and Ford is delighted to assist in delivering that promise.

MSA Formula

"The experience gained with EcoBoost over the last three seasons of Formula Ford racing ensures that it will be a reliable and inexpensive engine to race and maintain at optimum performance levels. Ford has over a century of involvement in racing and we are delighted to be involved with the next generation of racers.

"We are also pleased that we are calling on the expertise of Mygale of France in the supply of chassis. Mygale’s FIA-homologated F4 carbon fibre chassis is an impressively designed and engineered machine, and a perfect match for the race-proven EcoBoost engine.”

It’s for this reason that members of the Ford RS owners club arrange the annual RSOC National Day, providing a chance to celebrate this famous badge and all that it stands for. With 2015 also marking the 40th anniversary of the Mk2 Escort RS1800, it’s expected to be a celebration revellers won’t forget in a hurry.
