Ford scores touchdown with Super Bowl ad

Marketing experts have hailed Ford's new advert for the Ford Fusion Hybrid car, which was broadcast during Sunday's Super Bowl game.

A report in the Detroit Free Press said that Ford, along with General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, beat fellow car manufacturers including Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar/Land Rover, Kia, Toyota and Volkswagen in the race to be regarded as having the best Super Bowl advert.

Ford, already renowned for its adverts for the new Ford Fiesta cars for sale, showed the advert in a game which saw the Seattle Seahawks thrash the Denver Broncos 43-8.

The Super Bowl is not just famous for the big match itself, as car manufacturers and other brands often create elaborate adverts to catch the attention of viewers, and this year was no different.

Actor and comedian star in ad

The highly acclaimed Ford advert in question features popular film actor James Franco sitting alongside a tiger and also features the US actor and comedian Rob Riggle with a Yorkie pup.

Franco pretends that he is Riggle in the commercial, which is a back-to-back ad featuring plenty of fireworks and dancers celebrating the release of the new Ford Fusion Hybrid car.

The advert does an excellent job of showcasing the Fusion Hybrid, which can travel up to 85 miles per hour just by using electric power and has an EPA-estimated rating of 47 miles per gallon in the city, on the highway, or a combination of the both.

The Hybrid car is expected to be rolled out across Ford dealers in the UK and is estimated to be a huge hit here and across Europe.
