Ford Fiesta revealed as UK’s most popular car
Car sales in the UK are booming and a recent study has also found that the Ford Fiesta is the most popular car.
Recent figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed that last month there were 462,517 registrations submitted, which is an 8.6 per cent rise from the same period last year. This has meant that this year has been crowned the best year for car sales in over a decade.
Since the beginning of 2015 more than two million new cars have been sold. And according to the results, the Ford Fiesta is the most popular car in the UK.
Ford Fiesta tops the list and the Focus comes third
New and used Ford Fiesta cars in Poole and all over Britain have been purchased throughout 2015, with more than 100,000 being bought over the past year and 22,000 Ford Fiesta cars being bought in September alone.
The Ford Fiesta model, now officially the most popular car in the UK, beat off competition from a range of other car models, such as the Vauxhall Corsa, which came in second after selling 70,000 models this year.
The Ford Focus rounded out the top three most popular cars of 2015, as Ford dealers across Wiltshire and other dealers in the UK sold a staggering 69,053 units of the car over the past 12 months.
According to an article on the Daily Express, the Volkswagen Golf (59,200), Nissan Qashqai (49,715), Volkswagen Polo (45,537), Vauxhall Astra (42,687), Audi A3 (38,253), the Mini (35,679) and the Mercedes-Benz C Class (35,505) made up the top 10 best-selling cars in the UK over the past 12 months.
The figures certainly show the popularity of Ford cars. With newer models set to be released in the coming years, this popularity is set to continue.
