BREATHALYSER WARNING TO VAN DRIVERS VISITING FRANCE

A leading van and commercial vehicle insurer have warned about upcoming changes for those visiting France, whether on Business or personal trips.
The new ruling means that from July 1st it will be illegal to drive a vehicle without taking a breathalyser with you, with the penalty for not having one being a fine of €11. If you regularly drive your Transit van to the continent you will be pleased to know that you will be able to purchase a single-use breathalyser from Ferry and channel tunnel terminals, for between £1 and £2.
The new ruling adds even more regulations to the already growing list of road safety precautionary rules the French Government have introduced in recent years, including the requirement to carry a warning triangle and safety vest.
If you regularly visit France for business, you will need plenty of the Breathalyser kits, luckily new Ford vans have plenty of room inside them for storage purposes!
